The Benton State Bank has been a small hometown community bank since 1894 and we don't ever intend to change! We have endured many situations over the past 112 years; however, being bought out by a larger bank is not in the plans for us. We have seen the detrimental impact larger facilities have placed on people such as yourself. It is our intent to remain independent and fully capable of meeting our customers needs personally. Benton State Bank opened its branch location in Shullsburg in 1997. We have added additional staff to maintain the quality customer service which we are very proud of. We pride ourselves on being "The Bank in the Heart of the Community, with the Community at Heart"! We enjoy hearing what our customers have to say, especially when it includes suggestions of new products or services to offer. We are determined to keep up with the needs of today's society. Maintaining quality service at an affordable price is very important to us. Our customers are our friends, not just a member or a number. Under that program, through December 31, 2009, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account.
